Looking at various web videos for music but also for beer, beverages and serving methods, I discovered a great variety. Among them I found humorous, serious, professional, edited and amateur videos. Looking for videos that will enrich the variety of BeerBartender.gr, I found many nice. I ended that would be good to have our own production, such as Hunting Spirts, of my good friend Spiros Patsialos.
DON’T DO IT!!
Important role played an unacceptable and unprofessional video, showing a gentleman (I will not describe him as a barman, bartender or anything relevant that gives prestige and professionalism), serving beer. In this spotlight which I found at a well-known web page, the gentleman, wants to show us how to serve a Lager and a Stout. So he uses Samuel Adams Lager bottle and a Guinness Stout can. I see him using tin and I think, right, instead of using the bottle. So, until 1:03 everything is normal. At this point, the gentleman tells us that in the past he was bartender and made a trick when the beer foam had “sit” or “fall”.
He uses a paper towel to stir the surface to create new foam! Then dips a napkin into the customer’s glass and stirs the served beer, as a “professional”! You don’t believe me? Watch it in 1:18! He admits that he did this move while working! You realize that due to health grounds this is illegal and unethical. He misleads and doesn’t respect his customer, who chooses his bar where, any “professional” of this kind would work. Who of you would like a colleague as the particular, in the bar or as an instructor? No one! Especially, you are a client and being served by him. If I missed something or there is another view, simply send your comments..
