Mary Rose won the Gold Medal in the Brussels Beer Challenge. It’s the second distinction in a short period of time, since the last autumn, when it won the Silver Medal in the International Beer Challenge in the Red Ale category. It worth’s to mention that 50 independent judges will evaluate the competitive beers and will highlight those that stand out for their taste, the aromas and their appearance.
The beer is produced based on a British recipe. The inspiration for the Mary Rose came from the legend boat, which was the crested of the royal fleet of England, which created by the famous Henry the VIII. The name of the boat came from the combination of the name Mary, sister of the King and the family emblem, which was the rose.
The Mary Rose belongs to the Kondor/OK Athens family and it’s produced for them in the ultramodern Septem Microbrewery in Orologio of Evvoia. The beer soon will start exporting in Great Britain, although because of the awards the beer is already for sale in the Portsmouth museum, where the original boat is hosted.
