I always had a complaint from my female friends at the bar. As their friends ordered a smoked beer, they had a denial on their faces. Fortunately their friends where enjoying this expression. But that put me in thoughts. I wanted to mix some ingredients, in order to help my female friends taste the smoked flavor of beer. The result was the Bamberg Whiskey. A cocktail, which became the favorite of my female friends and customers at my bar and also became popular among the men who would love selected American bourbon and avoided smoked beer, even if they were beer fans. Its name occurs from the combination of its ingredients. Bamberg, from the origins of traditional and original smoked beer from Germany and Whiskey from selected spirit. I presented Bamberg Whiskey at the last HoReCa, within the “Beer Cocktail” exhibition.
Instead of Woodford Reserve use McCarthy’s Oregon Single Malt Whiskey
We douse the rim of the glass, a cocktail or a cognac balloon glass with lime juice or spiced syrup. After that we sink it in grated biscuit.
In the mixing glass we pour the beer, the whiskey and the rest of our ingredients with ice. Pay attention how you pour the beer. It must not foam. We stir with the bar-spoon and shake hard and shortly our shaker. Using the double straining method we pour the mix in our glass. An orange peel in the glass is our garnish.
