When Bar Convent Berlin (BCB) was held for the first time in 2007 no one would have guessed the concept would become such a great success. Not least the gastronomers who invented it: Helmut Adam, Jens Hasenbein and Bastian Heuser. What started with 16 exhibitors at Berlin’s Glashaus, however, has long become the international “place to be”. 268 exhibitors and 9,621 trade visitors attended the trade show last year alone. And in 2016 all signs point to growth again. Visitors can look forward to an even wider range – both in terms of exhibitors who can now occupy an additional hall, and in terms of the lecture programme which will also be expanded with bigger stages. Bar Convent Berlin 2016 will again be held at the Station Berlin location from 11 to 12 October.
Where brands are at home
Today – in its tenth edition – the BCB has become Europe’s most important event for bar tenders and the spirits and beverage industries. To the tune of 280 exhibitors and 10,000 trade visitors are expected to attend the event this year. Six months to the beginning of the trade show 75% of the exhibition space is already booked.
Joining the fray are well-known companies and brands including Beam Suntory, Bitburger, Borco-Marken-Import Matthiesen, Campari Deutschland, Diageo Germany, Diversa Spezialitäten, Pernod Ricard Deutschland, Schweppes Deutschland, Capulet&Montague, Mast-Jägermeister, MBG International Premium Brands, Ratsherrn, SAB Miller as well as Schwarze und Schlichte Markenvertrieb, to name but a few.
One additional hall
This year will see the Bar Convent Berlin being held in six halls for the first time. Serving as a venue as before – is Station Berlin with its unique atmosphere. The large Mixology Stage will move to the newly added Hall 5 as will the Food Court. This will provide the coffee segment and Brew Berlin with more room in Hall 3. Both segments are growth markets at the trade show enjoying growing interest among visitors.
