As we have mentioned previously our interest in the Game of Thrones TV series is no secret. Alongside the series, whose fourth season will begin soon, the new beers will also be unveiled. The beers are named after the families that appear in the series.
This time, on the 31st of March, Fire and Blood will become available. A Belgian Red Ale beer with 6.8% alcohol. According to Ommegang brewery, which is responsible for producing the series of beers, the beer will have creamy foam, a deep dark red color with ripe fruit, raisins and malt aromas as well as some spices. Some floral aromas clearly emerge from the hops used in its production. Among the hops used are CTZ (the initials of Columbus-Tomahawk-Zeus), Styrian Golding and German Tettang. The beer will also be spiced with Ancho chilies to further “burn” our palate.
Fire and Blood is inspired by the series where the heroine (who drags her body as well as many people, right and left), Daenerys Targaryen also known as the mother of the dragons. Her dragon will be displayed on the labels of Fire and Blood. For those wondering the dragons have names, which are Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion.
The first two releases that were related to the series were available only in the U.S.A and not in Greece included the Iron Throne Blonde Ale and Take the Black Stout. The new season of the series will debut in the U.S., April 6.
