It’s a fact that for the first time I delayed so much to write a report relevant an educational event. I am apologizing, to OTEK of Anavyssos students, because I am sure that were waiting more than a month, for comments and photos from that trip. Unfortunately my workload kept me busy.
As it was announced on the 15th of February, the Tuesday 19th of the same month, we will visit the facilities of Septem Microbrewery. So it happened. Around 9 o’clock in the morning the second year students started from their schools facilities in Anavyssos, with buses especially for that reason. The trip was quite long (when I drive seems shorter) but no one but it down. Songs, laughs, jokes and of course everyone was anxious about how far we were and when we will arrive.
After 3 hours, if I remember correctly, we arrived at the Microbrewery. Some of the kids were expected something bigger, so they felt a bit disappointed. However the tour from Mr Sofoklis Panagiotou, revived their morale. They saw stills, beer during the production process and of course they tried beer from the tankers where there was beer ready a step before the bottling.
The students were split in tree groups, while they were too many, so they wil see the microbrewery in action. A lot of questions from the students, while their favorite time, was which else? The time they tasted Septem Porter, Pilsner and Honey.
At the end of the tour students had just one complain, that they hadn’t any souvenir from their outing. Some took a souver, others many pictures and others memories and experiences.
Before our trip back to Athens begin we made a stop for lunch in Alivery, students had an hour at their disposal. Just after that our comeback trip to Athens was beginning. The trip was clearly more quite as the majority of the students were sleeping.
I left the students at the Kifisias traffic lights, where I had parked in order to meet with them. The outing started with memories from my own student past. This time I was on my tutor’s side. All my tutors were really heroes to have as their student. I want to thank the students and the teachers of the OTEK of Anavyssos for this trip! I hope they were satisfied (they seem like they did) and soon we will organize one more in another microbrewery.
We want to thank Septem Microbrewery, for their hospitality and the tour into their facilities. We want to apologies for any disruption into their program. Their contribution into young’s education is very important.
