Major brands, small breweries and new craft beer providers: Brew Berlin is equal parts tradition and innovation. Big industry players such as Beck’s and Pilsner Urquell as well as renowned speciality brewers such as Weisse Bräuhaus G. Schneider & Sohn and BraufactuM will come to the beer industry’s meeting place to showcase their varied beer assortments. In addition, the booming craft beer segment will be represented by the likes of Crew Republic, BRLO, Berliner Berg and Sander.
Brew Berlin is a part of the Bar Convent Berlin, Europe’s leading premium trade show for the bar and beverage industry. As the fastest-growing exhibitor segment at the show, the Brew Berlin area will receive a dedicated area in Hall 3 this year. The Bar Convent Berlin will take place at Station Berlin on 6 and 7 October 2015.
Beer industry get-together
Even last year, a third of Bar Convent visitors already considered beer a trend topic. “Joining soft drinks and spirits, beer has emerged as one the pillars of our trade show concept. That’s what we see in the plentiful feedback we’ve received from exhibitors and visitors alike”, says Jens Hasenbein, the managing director of Bar Convent GmbH. With several months still to go before the start of the show, the number of beer exhibitors has doubled already. Participants at this year’s Brew Berlin will include Becks, SABMiller – Pilsner Urquell, Ratsherrn, CREW Republic Brewery, Lemke Berlin, Braukunst Berlin, Intl. Brau Manufakturen GmbH, Hofmark Brauerei, Schneider Weisse, Berliner Berg, BrauKunstKeller, Brauerei Sander and Kuehn Kunz Rosen.
International beer experts will also travel to Brew Berlin again. They’ll offer up-to-date insights into the world of beer and entertain visitors with exciting creations and tastings. For the first time, a dedicated stage for beer talks will be set up to supplement the tastings and presentations on the main stage. Beer talk participants will include brewers, importers, specialist retailers and operators of beer bars. Among the speakers at the ninth Bar Convent will be the well-known Danish brewer Mikkel Borg Bjergsø; Andreas Fält, director at Vertical Brands Ltd in the UK; Frank Höhler from SABMiller; Conor Neiland, customer marketing director at Guinness Global; and beer specialist and brewer Rory Lawton. Renowned Berlin beer bar expert Erin Bafigo will manage Brew Berlin’s own beer bar. Located directly adjacent to the beer stage, she and her team will invite visitors to sample a vast selection of the latest German and international specialty brews.
Starts-ups enrich the industry
The beer scene is growing, and so is the number of beer types offered. Beyond the popular top sellers, new and innovative products are being developed. This inventive spirit finds expression in the craft beer community. The resulting products with their exotic flavours are sure to please true connoisseurs. Brew Berlin provides opportunities for an exchange of ideas with the German and international craft beer scene. Smaller breweries and craft beer makers will present their products at the show’s “Draft Alley”, a special area tailored to the needs of smaller beer companies and start-up brewers. Along a stretch of just a few yards, visitors will get to experience a cornucopia of different beer styles along with their producers.
